Excerpt
From “Introduction”
One of our basic needs is to understand the purpose of our life. However, most of us have put it on the backburner in the present times. Our modern lifestyle has distracted us from our true goals, and thus we find it difficult to define our purpose in life.
Most of the time, people experience pressure and FOMO (fear of missing out). And to avoid that turmoil, they strive to make their life to be perceived as "perfect" by the world.
Amid this rat race, they have no time to follow their deep-felt values and passions.
Materialistic things can indeed give us temporary happiness; however, is it the core purpose of our life? If you ask this particular question to yourself, it indicates that you are not content with your life. Anyone who is happy, satisfied, and content with his or her life will not think of their purpose.
Only when life becomes burdensome or worthless, such questions arise. And there is nothing wrong with this. In fact, it is the first step toward finding the purpose. At the moment, if you are asking this question to yourself, then your happiness and wellbeing are uncertain and unsteady. You must have witnessed moments of joy, love, and bliss, but you must not have been able to sustain them.
The purpose is what you call the way of life, and it is different for every person. For some people, finding a purpose in life has a spiritual notion, and some even link it with religion. For others, it can be a secular concept with a need to be valued, mattered, and respected. When more and more people know who they really are, they discover the meaning of their existence and what gives purpose to their lives.
Adopting becomes easy when you dive into the idea of purpose and explore its meaning and uniqueness when compared to goals.
Scientifically, purpose can be defined as a cognitive process that highlights the goals within an individual's life and imparts a better meaning to life. If you take it in the right spirit, purpose is about self-organizing and aiming to restore goals, handle behavior, and enable the experience of actual existence. It gives direction to your decisions concerning how you use what you have.
Despite administering the behavior, your purpose creates a path. It is more like the GPS for a traveler. You don't need to find a purpose; however, you will get certain benefits from it if you do so. When you embrace your purpose, you become a self-sufficient power.
Your life gets meaning and direction. Finding life's purpose is more than an unfulfilled dream; it is a roadmap for a better and more fulfilling life.
