Discretion

Nominations are never published, and a nominee is never told who nominated them unless you say they can be. A nomination is a compliment, and we treat it as one.

Leaders do not nominate themselves

The people with the most to say are usually the last to think a book is for them. A nomination from someone they respect is often the first time the idea is taken seriously.

You have seen them decide, teach, build. A publisher can verify a record; only a peer knows whose advice holds up under pressure.
