What is inside

Mastery @ Driving Desire’s Journey brings together the original narratives of twenty thought leaders from across the globe, offering readers a window into the experiences, decisions, challenges, and lessons that shaped their personal and professional journeys. Rather than presenting success as a fixed formula, the book explores the different ways individuals discover purpose, respond to adversity, develop their strengths, and learn to make better choices along the way. Each narrative offers a distinct perspective shaped by real experience, showing how ambition must often be supported by self-awareness, perseverance, judgement, adaptability, and the willingness to learn from failure.

Across these stories, readers encounter insights into personal growth, professional development, leadership, entrepreneurship, decision-making, resilience, and the pursuit of meaningful goals. The emphasis is not simply on what these individuals achieved, but on the experiences and thinking that helped them progress from aspiration toward accomplishment.
At its heart, the book encourages readers to look beyond conventional definitions of success and consider how their own desires, choices, abilities, and experiences can shape the journey ahead.

This book is for entrepreneurs, professionals, aspiring leaders, students, and readers interested in personal development, leadership, motivation, and real-life success stories.
It is particularly relevant to those seeking experience-based perspectives on navigating challenges, developing greater clarity, learning from setbacks, and turning personal ambition into purposeful action.

Excerpt

From “Why I Failed 541 Times? — Vishwanath Kokkonda”

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.
Henry Ford

On hindsight, I understand that for me entrepreneurial success has been a result of intense introspection and continuous learning. My entrepreneurial dreams came to fruition through a company, Yagnaum systems that I co-founded along with my brother Gopinath Kokkonda. We are a solutions integrator and consulting firm specializing in technology and staffing solutions for organizations in the publishing, new media, finance, lifestyle, retail and education sectors.

To reach this level of success, which essentially to me means, fulfilling my own aspirations in life, was a roller coaster ride, with unexpected turns and twists, at times racing and at others stagnating. The company name Yagnaum is made of two Sanskrit words, Yagna symbolizing sustained effort with intense focus to achieve a positive cause and Aum representing divine energy united in its three elementary aspects: creation, preservation and liberation.

How do you validate your assumptions?
Know Thyself
What is the process for creating a valid assessment of your current capabilities and future potential?
CLARITY IS THE MANTRA!
When you know yourself, you are empowered!
False confidence and assumptions about one‘s self and one‘s capabilities often mar the growth and evolution of an individual. A realistic feedback from the people you interact with goes a long way in creating a realistic perception of yourself. This has been the greatest discovery of my life.
To substantiate what I mean, I have to take you back in time. I hail from Warangal, a tier-2 city, 120km from Hyderabad. I was a bright and intelligent child. People around me assumed that I would do very well in all aspects of life; score well in every exam; get admission for a course of my choice; in short, become anything I aspired to be. I let this assumption percolate into my mind, unquestioned. I began to assume that I could, in fact, achieve all that I ever wanted. However, I did not know then that I also had to work, work very hard towards achieving a goal.
