What is inside
The SAW Method by Guruvayurappa K R is designed for people who want to progress in life but may lack clarity about what they want, the skills needed to achieve it, or a structured way to overcome the challenges standing in their path.
Drawing on the author’s own life journey, the book presents a systematic and guided approach to personal growth and success. Rather than relying only on motivation, it focuses on practical activities that readers can understand, measure, track, and apply to their everyday lives.
The book helps readers examine their wants and needs, identify areas that may be holding them back, and develop a clearer thought process for moving towards their goals. Many chapters include summaries and key takeaways that encourage readers to reflect on what they have learned and translate those insights into continuous improvement.
A central theme is the importance of noticing and appreciating the small things that are often overlooked but can have significant value. Through simple changes in perspective and daily habits, the author encourages readers to build a more positive outlook and approach familiar problems differently. At its heart, the book aims to serve as a practical blueprint and guiding light for people seeking greater clarity, happiness, abundance, and direction.
The SAW Method is written for individuals who feel stuck, uncertain, or dissatisfied with their current circumstances, as well as those who know what they want but are unsure how to achieve it.
It is particularly relevant to readers seeking structured self-development, practical exercises, greater clarity about their goals, and a step-by-step approach to personal improvement and success.
Excerpt
From “Introduction”
My entire life till this moment, the most significant happenings that had left a dent in me, just flashed before my eyes. The way I was treated by my peers, family, my non-existent love life, unsuccessful college, and career all at once flooded my memories.
I could hear my primary class math teacher shouting, "You're good for nothing, idiot!" She flung my notebook from her desk, and it landed outside the classroom. "Can't you do even the basic calculations?" she yelled at the top of her voice. I stood there, humiliated in front of the entire classroom of forty students. I could still hear their laughter. Tears flowed from my eyes as if the floodgates opened, but I didn't cry out loud.
"You're the biggest liar in the whole world," my class teacher shouted at me in front of the same class. The entire class was going on a trip to the theme park, and I had also given my name thinking I would be allowed to go, but due to my mischievous nature, I was denied the trip. The next day when I informed my teacher about my inability to join, it earned me the liar badge. I grinned, holding back my tears again and looked like a joker.
I was laughed at by my peers. All I could do was put my forehead down on the table, looking down at the floor and trying to control my tears. Time flew, and I was in middle school now. It was time for the Annual Day celebrations. I always wanted to be a part of the programs that were performed. Every year I would gather the courage to ask the chief in charge of taking part in the program, and every year, I would be given tasks like bringing water, arranging chairs, etc. Instead of directly denying me, they dodged me.
This year the chief in charge was a different teacher. I popped the same question to her, "Ma'am, I would like to be a part of the program at least this year." She asked, "Which class are you in?" I told her about my class and section. "Rank?" she asked. I hesitated for a moment and said, "27 ma'am".
"Oh! you're that average guy, look, I don't have time and place for average people in my program schedule. Stick to whatever you're good at, i.e., being AVERAGE, now get out of my face." I felt rattled as if something huge collided in me. Almost the entire staff and a whole lot of middle school students were present there in front of me.
