Prateek Jain is an entrepreneur and founder of CarTrends, whose journey reflects resilience, persistence, and practical business wisdom. Raised in Delhi, he developed his entrepreneurial instincts while working alongside his father in an automobile spare parts shop, gaining firsthand experience in customer relationships, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.

An MBA graduate from IMT Nagpur with executive education from IIM Calcutta, Prateek left his corporate career in 2016 to join his family business. Starting from a small shop in Gurgaon, he navigated the challenges of entrepreneurship, stabilised operations, and built strong industry relationships. In 2021, the business broke even and was formally incorporated.

Through CarTrends and his book, The Dukaandaar Mindset, Prateek advocates for recognising shopkeepers as entrepreneurs and combining traditional business values with modern systems to build scalable, sustainable enterprises.
