What is inside
Crafting Dreams brings together the personal journeys, struggles, and achievements of entrepreneurs and professionals who turned ambition into meaningful progress. Through real-life experiences, the book explores how dreams evolve, how adversity can reshape confidence, and how perseverance, belief, and purposeful action can help individuals move beyond difficult circumstances. The collection features the experiences of Rohit Bagaria, Rajesh Dembla, Thumbay Moideen, Vivek Agarwal, Parmeet Singh Sood, Dr. Monika Singh, Sadananda Murthy, Avinash Sisode, Bhakti Sanghavi, Dr. Sunil Kumar, and Ashok Soota. Their stories cover entrepreneurship, leadership, resilience, business growth, teamwork, faith, change, personal transformation, and the pursuit of success.
Bhakti Sanghavi’s own journey reflects the book’s central idea. Growing up in a middle-class Gujarati family, she experienced a financial crisis that changed how her family viewed security, money, and ambition. Rather than allowing those experiences to permanently limit her aspirations, she continued to believe in the importance of dreaming, learning from failure, and pursuing meaningful goals.
Across the book, success is presented not as a straight path, but as a process shaped by setbacks, choices, learning, courage, and the willingness to continue moving forward.
This book is for entrepreneurs, professionals, aspiring leaders, students, business owners, and readers interested in personal development and real-world stories of achievement.
It is particularly relevant to anyone seeking experience-based insights on overcoming adversity, rebuilding confidence, pursuing ambitious goals, and transforming dreams into purposeful action.
Excerpt
From “Crafting Dreams”
When you ask a child at the age of 4, where do you want to go? The child responds pointing at the sky – “I want to go to the moon, I want to be in the sky, I want to go on the clouds.” Few years later, when you ask the child at the age of 8, where do you want to go? The child responds – “I want to go to New York, I want to go to London, I want to go to Paris.” As the child grows into his/her teens and you ask the same child at the age of 15, where do you want to go? The child responds – “I want to go to Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai.” At the age of 20, reality sets in and you ask the grown up adult, where do you want to go? The adult replies – “Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad!” and few years later, the life of this adult just becomes about going from home to office and back home again.
For most people, the ability to dream shrinks as they grow old. And the beauty is that their mind justifies it as ‘learning from experience’. For me, personally I disagree that these people are learning. I feel learning is to understand why one failed and to better themselves to conquer that failure and emerge victorious. I believe that life is a gift and each one of us owes it to our creator to dream big and live those dreams. It is our responsibility to dream and achieve! My story is that of a girl born and brought up in a middle class Gujrati family, seen through financial crisis yet believed in myself to dream and achieve!
Crisis seeds mediocrity
Being the youngest of three children, I was the most pampered at home. My sister describes me as a bully. I would cry on the birthday of my siblings because I would want to receive the birthday bumps as well even if it was not my birthday. Academically I was bright and would always make my parents proud through my schooling days. I led a pretty normal and happy life as a child till one day tragedy struck. My father who was a traditional Gujrati businessman having a retail store one day received a threat call from a mafia goon in Bangalore to vacate the store premises. There was no reasoning to the demands placed on my father. Suddenly the environment at home was filled in fear. I was in my 8th grade and overnight we had to leave home, stop going to school and had to leave the city for our safety. For the next two months, living in my relatives home in Mumbai, I saw my father deal with this uncalled for crisis without the support of anybody.
