What is inside
Journey from Struggles to Success explores the mindset, experiences, and lessons that shape an entrepreneur through different stages of growth. Drawing from Avinash Sisode’s journey, the book focuses on how challenges, setbacks, difficult decisions, and changing circumstances can become part of the learning process rather than reasons to stop moving forward. The book looks at entrepreneurship through the lens of optimism, resilience, self-belief, and practical action. It examines how individuals can respond to adversity, learn from experience, develop confidence, and continue building even when success is not immediate. Rather than presenting entrepreneurship as a smooth or predictable path, it reflects the realities of struggle, persistence, and gradual progress.
Through personal experiences and business insights, the book highlights the importance of attitude, determination, leadership, continuous learning, and the willingness to adapt. It encourages readers to see obstacles as opportunities to reassess, improve, and move closer to their goals. At its core, the book is about developing the inner strength and practical mindset required to create opportunities, build a career or business, and remain committed to long-term growth.
This book is for aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals, students, and individuals considering an entrepreneurial path.
It is particularly relevant to readers who are facing setbacks, uncertainty, or early-stage business challenges and are looking for perspective, motivation, and practical lessons from a real entrepreneurial journey.
Excerpt
From “Journey from Struggle to Success — Avinash Sisode”
Success is painstakingly harvested out of failure.
I was born in a small village having population of less than 1000 people, about 400 kms from Mumbai, India. Though born in a farmer family and brought up in a village, I at the age of 22 knew that my entrepreneurial dreams were about to take flight. I started many businesses out of which many turned out to be major curves of learning for me. I consider failure as merely a learning curve for every entrepreneur.
According to me, Entrepreneur is someone in whose brain some idea to solve some issue of the society or community pops up and he or she starts dreaming about that idea, and one day start business based on this. If I have to encapsulate in a few words, the phenomenal potential of human resources, then I would say, 'together we can create miracles'. This has been my guiding principle ever since I became an entrepreneur. With human beings becoming more and more individualistic and isolated from one another, the fabric of society is tearing apart. Handholding at the micro level and empowering entire communities go a long way in promoting progress and development. All my endeavors, be it incepting and nurturing startups or spearheading community projects, have drawn nourishment from this strong belief.
E&G Group of Companies, the first of which was founded in 2008 has today grown to become a conglomerate of 9 companies operating in the areas of construction, real estate, hospitality, educationand IT. The hardship and failures that I have gone through prior to tasting success are the cornerstones of this business empire. At the age of 22, however, I knew I wanted to become an entrepreneur. On a lighter note, if I have to talk in numbers, I have failed more number of times than I have succeeded. Nevertheless, it's true. Those were testing times. If I look back I realize how strong I must have been to have not quit and to have persevered until I found success. I have failed about 16 times in business ventures. I must share two of these experiences that were the biggest blows financially and in terms of ideation.
Success: A journey of learnings
With a diploma in civil engineering, I started my career as a Maharashtra government contractor for building roads and bridges. I was carrying back a hefty paycheck and the going was good. In 1998-99 the urge to do something new took over. The Internet was the buzzword of the day and I shifted focus to the information technology industry.
