From “What Kite Are You Flying? — Vivek Agarwal”
On a windy day in the month of March, the Mayor of a town decided to take a stroll across the park. While on his stroll he came across a small boy who was flying what the Mayor thought was the biggest and most striking of kites he had ever seen.
It soared so high up in the sky that the Mayor was sure that it could be seen from far even in the cities next to theirs. The Mayor had not seen anything so remarkable ever. He knew that his city did not have anything as spectacular as this kite so he decided to award a "key to the city" to the one who was responsible for such a beautiful thing.
And he asked, "Who is responsible for flying this kite?"
"I am," came the answer from the little boy who held on to the kite with all his might. The boy said, "I made this huge kite myself, with my own hands. I painted all of the colorful pictures on it, and I fly it!"
The Mayor was impressed by the boy's efforts when suddenly the wind chimed.
"I am responsible for the beautiful kite flying in the sky," it said. "It is my breeze that keeps this big kite flying in the sky, looking so beautiful. Unless I blow on it, it will not fly at all. I fly it!"
Another contender for the award was the Kite's tail. "Not so," it said. "I make it sail and give it stability against the wind's blowing gusts. Without me, the kite would spin out of control and nobody, not even the boy could save it from crashing to the earth. I fly the kite!"
Like the many contenders who claim to be responsible for the beauty of the kite that flies in the sky, there are many stakeholders in any success story.
